MAKING IT GREEN

Greenscape's Denver green parking facility incorporates a number of environmentally responsible features in the design and operations. Included in this is the use of wind and solar power generation, geothermal heating and cooling, LED lighting and LEED Gold building standards. Greenscape and the Denver project's operating partner, ProPark, are working with industry-leading suppliers of these green products for incorporation into the construction of the Denver parking facility; a facility that is being built as the world's greenest parking operation.

According to a study by Architectural Energy Corporation, the total annual cost savings at Greenscape's Canopy Airport Parking facility is 70% when compared with engineering baselines.

Windspire Energy, formerly Mariah Power, has been selected as the wind energy supplier for the Denver parking facility. READ FULL DESCRIPTION

Geothermal Heating & Cooling

Geothermal systems will be used to heat and cool the indoor buildings at the facility. Seven boreholes were drilled onsite, each to a depth of approximately 300 feet. The boreholes were drilled with a 4.75" bit, and loaded with 1" diameter high density polyethylene geo loop, and then grouted with thermal enhanced grout. During the heating season, the circulated fluid temperature will drop and during the cooling season, the loop field temperature will be increased. Typical temperatures of the loop field will range between 40 - 75 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on weather.

Alternatively Fuelled Shuttle Transportation

The shuttle buses servicing Canopy Airport Parking are powered by Biodiesel, compressed natural gas (CNG) and hybrid technologies. The buses are controlled by state-of-the-art GPS systems thereby reducing fuel usage and ensuring prompt service for Canopy customers.
