Print on bleach free, recycled paper, with the highest post-consumer waste content available
Bring individual "mug" to work for beverages. This includes all other disposable items for lunch such as stir sticks, chopsticks, spoons, forks, etc.
Print company correspondence double sided each and every time. Set this by default on all printers
Request all invoices, newspapers, business alerts, bank statements and relating correspondence arrive confidentially, via electronic means, versus hard copy
When staying at a hotel, motel, or bed and breakfast, let the management team know that you will only support businesses that adopt environmentally responsible practices and that this will be a function of your company's environmental purchasing and procurement policy
Set motion detector lights for minimally used rooms in the office/ warehouse
Pack a waste-free lunch whenever possible.
REUSABLE carrier (cloth bag, lunchbox); NO throw-away bags
REUSABLE containers; NO plastic wrap, foil or styrofoam
THERMOS for drinks; NO single-use cartons or cans
CLOTH NAPKIN to wash and re-use; NO paper napkins
SILVERWARE to wash and re-use; NO plastic forks and spoons
Track each and every utility and corresponding consumption of the utility individually
Create an Environmental Purchasing and Procurement Policy which addresses environmental footprint and impact to all affiliated companies, upstream and downstream, and that the companies commit to being carbon and GHG neutral by a defined date if they wish to continue doing business
Choose companies which take packaging back for recycling or reuse (until we figure out how to reduce packaging dramatically)
Generate electronic fax cover sheets. This allows the fax to be sent directly from a computer, without requiring a printed hard copy
